
The Association “SIBioC – Laboratory Medicine (Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and
Clinical Molecular Biology)”, founded in 1969, an official member of the International
and European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine – IFCC and EFLM
– which gathers professionals in Laboratory Medicine, aims to achieve the following objectives:
to bring together those who, for professional or research reasons, carry out their activities
in the field of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology or related fields;
to promote initiatives aimed at improving – in the field of Laboratory Medicine
– cultural preparation, necessary professional updates, and
the organization of laboratories; in particular, for these purposes, the Association promotes and
organizes cultural events and courses aimed at acquiring ECM educational credits
in various sectors of Biomedicine and Laboratory Medicine for professionals in
the fields of Medicine and Surgery (general and specialized), as well as in Diagnostic Services;
to collaborate for the establishment of specialization courses with a unified program at the national
level and to facilitate the integration of graduates from various categories into laboratories with
responsibilities corresponding to the qualifications obtained; to facilitate the exchange of
scientific and technical documentation and information useful for the performance of professional
activities; to promote the establishment of standard methods and the implementation of
overall quality, including quality control, as well as certification and
accreditation in clinical analysis laboratories;
to directly or indirectly promote scientific research in the field of
Laboratory Medicine;
to promote the establishment of reference laboratories;
to establish collaborative relationships with national and international scientific societies and
federations, particularly with the International and European Federations of
Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC and EFLM);
to promote friendly relations among Members and to promote cultural and scientific collaboration between various laboratories;
to organize scientific meetings at regional, national, and international levels;
